Do any of you have any good sustainable gift ideas for Easter? Please let me know. I don't want to give my nieces and nephews yet more chocolate! The packaging is such as waste, and it doesn't really feed their imaginations either.

Buy moulds from a kitchen shop or Lakeland on line, to make your own Easter Eggs.

Or buy nice books from Charity shops as presents instead.

I sent my god daughter 'virtual eggs' (an image) by e-mail once. Don't think she was very impressed though!

Instead of buying moulds perhaps there is something lying around your house that would do the same job? I can't think of anything at the moment but will try and think of something. If you keep the packaging from last years easter eggs you can use them as moulds I would think?

Not just for Easter, but some of these gifts are ideal - donate money to providing an animal in a developing country and the person will get a gift certificate to say they have sent cows/goats/sheep/rabbits/chickens etc. An alternative gift which seems quite apt for Easter. And its helping a good cause too. Check out the website below:

We don't buy Easter Eggs because there is just too much packaging. The main thing which we always did when we were growing up, and which we still do now is spend Easter Day together. My mum cooks a roast dinner for us all and then we all go for a long walk on the hills afterwards. We have done this for years and years and I think it is much nicer than getting Easter eggs!

My nieces and nephews get way too many treats at it is, so I put a small amount of money into their trust funds so that one day i nthe future if they want to go to college etc, they will have something to go towards it. I think this is much more beneficial than buying gifts I know that will go to waste, and its helping secure their future.

We caved in and bought Green and Blacks Easter Eggs. I blame the missus!
